Guided Walks for Civic Day

On Saturday, 16th June, the Society will be offering two free guided walks.

In the morning, starting at 10.30 am, there will be a guided walk of Wood Street. Meet outside the Town Hall.

In the afternoon, there will be a guided walk of the St John's area. Meet by the bus stop outside St John's Church at 2 pm.

Each walk will last approximately 90 minutes.

On Wednesday, 23rd May, we shall be offering a free guided walk of the Wood Street area as part of Wakefield Walking Week. This is a free event.

Join us once again for a guided walk to discover the history and architecture of one of Wakefield's most important streets. The walk will leave from outside Wakefield Town Hall in Wood Street at 2 pm and will last around one and a half to two hours.

As part of our contribution to the annual Festival of Food Drink and Rhubarb in February, the Society is offering the opportunity to learn something of Wakefield's history and architecture through a talk and guided walk on Friday afternoon, 19th February, starting at 1.00 pm.

Heritage Open Days

As part of its contribution to the National Heritage Open Days event from 10th 13th September this year, the Society has arranged two guided walks - one at Thornes Park and one around the city centre.
