Wakefield Civic Society responds to Wakefield Council's proposals to change charges for car parking in the District

Wakefield Council has called for comments on their proposals to change car parking charges. These changes include

  • New charges for overnight, Sunday and Bank Holiday charging at the Council's current pay-and-display car parks and on-street parking;
  • Limiting free parking to three hours at Thornes Park, Minsthorpe Leisure Centre, Normanton Leisure Centre and Library, and Pontefract Pool;
  • Introducing charging for parking at Anglers Country Park at the same rate as Pugneys.

We have responded to the Council's consultation exercise with the following comments.
