You may have heard about the Forgotten Women of Wakefield Project as it has received a lot of press coverage in recent weeks. Come to our talk on 20th September at 7.30pm at Wakefield Town Hall to learn all about the background to the project as Sarah Leah Cobham, CEO of Dream Time Creative, explains what the project was set up to achieve and reveals some of the discoveries being made about the women who helped to fashion Wakefield's social and political life.

The Angel of Passchendaele film premiere

Join us at Theatre Royal Wakefield on 3rd July 2018 for the special premiere screening of a new film by Just Druid about Nellie Spindler, 'The Angel of Passchendaele' as part of an evening remembering World War I and the Battle of Passchendaele.

Guided Walks for Civic Day

On Saturday, 16th June, the Society will be offering two free guided walks.

In the morning, starting at 10.30 am, there will be a guided walk of Wood Street. Meet outside the Town Hall.

In the afternoon, there will be a guided walk of the St John's area. Meet by the bus stop outside St John's Church at 2 pm.

Each walk will last approximately 90 minutes.
