Guided tours of Wakefield Town and County Halls
To coincide with Wakefield’s
annual Festival of Food, Drink and Rhubarb (17th to 19th
February), we are offering two tours of the city’s Town and County Halls.
Led by Society President Kevin Trickett, both tours begin in the Society’s office on the ground floor of Wakefield Town Hall in Wood Street with a short illustrated talk on the history of the two buildings. This will then be followed by a tour of each building’s principal public rooms. Depending on weather conditions, there may be time to explore some of the area outside.
Please meet at the Town Hall in good time so that each talk and tour can start promptly at the advertised time – 10.30 am and 2.00 pm. Each event will last a maximum of two and half hours (less if the weather is bad)
