Wakefield Civic Society seeks nominations for 2016 Design Awards

Posted on 21 January 2016 by

We are now calling for nominations for our annual Design Awards scheme and we would like to invite you to submit nominations for projects that you think may be worthy of recognition.

As usual, we are looking for nominations across the following five categories:

  1. Best new development (building or environmental)
  2. Best refurbishment (building or environmental)
  3. Best shop front
  4. Best public house, café bar or restaurant frontage
  5. Best residential development (6 or more units) (developments of 1-5 homes can be nominated under category 1 or 2)

Nominations should be for projects completed in 2015 and should be in or around the city centre and surrounding villages. (We cannot consider projects in other towns within the district, such as Castleford, Pontefract, Horbury, Ossett, etc. as they lie outside our area. If in doubt, do ask and we can advise).

If you can think of any suitable properties or projects to nominate, please drop us an email before 31st January or use the comments box below. Remember that we do take nominations for environmental projects as well as for buildings.

The judging panel will be asked to meet in February and the awards and commendations will be announced at our Annual General Meeting on Thursday evening, 14th April.
