The Regeneration of Wakefield - Talk

Although it’s been a while since we saw big schemes such as Trinity Walk and The Hepworth Wakefield coming to fruition, work continues within the Council to plan the next steps in the city’s regeneration. Some of these schemes, such as the Kirkgate Master Plan and the re-imagining of the Civic Quarter, have been widely reported on and the Society has put forward its own views as part of the public consultations on the proposals. What is clear is that the city centre will continue to see further significant developments over the next few years.

James Stephenson, Senior Development Manager for the city at Wakefield Council has agreed to update us on the latest plans in what has become something of an annual progress report from the Council to our members.

We’ll be opening the doors to the Orangery from 7.00 pm when the Orangery Café will be open for light refreshments and the talk will start at 7.30. There is no charge for admission and the talk is open to all.
