PLEASE NOTE THAT IN VIEW OF THE DETERIORATING WEATHER, WE WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR THE JANUARY 28th ARTWALK. THE EXHIBITION SCHEDULED FOR TONIGHT WILL BE ARRANGED.
Our decision does not affect other venues.
For the first Wakefield Artwalk of 2015, we will be exhibiting work by students of Outwood Grange Academy.
As Howard Jackson, Head of Art at the Academy explains:
The work on display will be from from students who completed their A-levels last year or the year before. All the work on display was graded A*, the highest A-level grade achievable, and all students went on to study art in some of the most prestigious art schools in the country. Over 50% of A-level art students at OGA have achieved A*, against a national average of 7% for state schools. These are truly some of the most talented art students in the country.
You will find notes next to each piece of work explaining the artist’s ideas and creative intentions. We hope you enjoy the work and will join us in celebrating the fine achievements of our students.
We do hope you will be able to join us. As ever, there will be members of Wakefield Society committee on hand to talk about the work of the Society. Drop in any time between 5 and 9 pm.
