The Listed Buildings of Wakefield - Talk

Ever wondered about what makes a listed building special? Ever wondered why some buildings are listed and others are not? Do you know which of Wakefield's buildings are listed?

If you want to find out more about Wakefield's listed buildings, come along to our talk on Thursday, 20th March, at 7.30 pm at the Orangery to hear Kevin Trickett, President of the Society, talking about the process for listing a building and what a listing actually means in practice. With illustrations of some of the city's more interesting buildings, Kevin will shed light on some of Wakefield's fascinating architecture.

Kevin will also explain about the city's Conservation Areas and why they too are important in the preservation and conservation story.

The meeting is open to members and their guests and the general public and is free of charge. Tea and coffee will be available after the meeting.

Please note that there is limited parking at the Orangery so please give priority to blue badge holders; if you can park offsite, it would be appreciated. There are a number of car parks in the area – including some council-run surface level car parks in Westgate and Northgate that are free after 6 pm. Please ensure you have entered a free car park though – as some car parks are subject to 24-hour parking fees!
