Wakefield 24 special events

As part of the Wakefield Cultural Quarter Initiative, Wakefield Civic Society is supporting Wakefield 24, 24 days of cultural programming in the city in the run up to Christmas. Co-ordinated by Wakefield Cultural Quarter Initiative: a group of Wakefield individuals and organisations collaborating to promote the city's creativity, Wakefield 24 offers a full programme of activities - you can see the programme here.

Join Wakefield Civic Society for a week of events at our office at 19 King Street, Wakefield.

As part of Wakefield 24, we are hosting an exhibition of photographs of Wakefield by local artist Helen Field. We'll be opening our office from 5 pm to 9 pm on the evenings of Monday, 9th December through to Friday 13th December. There is no need to book - just come along.

On Tuesday and Wednesday evening, 10th and 11th December, we are hosting additional events in the office alongside the exhibition:

On Tuesday 10th December, we have a members and invited guests only event - the exhibition will still be open to all.

On Wednesday, 11th December, from 6.30 to 7.15 pm, Ali Bullivent will be joining us for a very special performance. Ali will be singing 'Songs for Wakefield'. This original and diverse set of songs will be accompanied by guitar, and flute. They have been inspired by a range of Wakefield people and places and Sandal Castle, ‘The Church on a Bridge’ and Barbara Hepworth. Because of space limitations, we do need to know who will be coming, so please book in advance by sending us an email at info@wakefieldcivicsociety.org.uk giving your name and the name(s) of anyone you would like to bring along with you.
