Talk and tour of Wakefield Cathedral

Join us for the first evening meeting in our new Autumn/Winter programme.

Meeting at Wakefield Cathedral: on Thursday evening, 12th September, the tour and talk will commence at 7.30 pm. We expect the meeting to end at around 9.00 pm.

Malcolm Warburton, a volunteer at the Cathedral, will talk to us about the continuing refurbishment work at this important landmark building which plays an important role in both the religious and secular life of Wakefield. With the first phase of the refurbishment having been completed recently, attention now turns to the next phase and this meeting will bring us up to date with the latest plans. There will be an opportunity to purchase tea and coffee at the end of the meeting with proceeds going to the Cathedral.

Please note: there will be an evensong service on Thursday evening before our meeting. This starts at 6.30 pm is due to end at 7.20 pm but any members and guests who arrive early for our meeting are invited to sit in the nave until the service ends. Please enter the Cathedral via the West Door – the one that faces up to Cross Square.
