Wakefield Civic Society Announces Heritage Open Days Programme

Posted on 27 August 2013 by

As part of the national Heritage Open Days scheme, Wakefield Civic Society has announced its plans to help celebrate the city's fascinating built heritage.

There will be two guided walks of the city centre on Friday afternoon, 13th September and Saturday morning, 14th September (see our events page for more details). In addition, the Society's office at 19 King Street will be open on Sunday, 15th September, from 10.00 am to 3 pm as part of the Wood Street Market, for an exhibition of photographs of Wakefield city centre showing some of the changes that have been made over the last 100 years or so.

This is just one contribution to a wider number of events and property openings that have been arranged around the Wakefield District. You can find a full list of what is happening in Wakefield and elsewhere around the country by visiting the national Heritage Open Days website here. (Please note that the date and times shown for the Society's walk on the national site are incorrect at the time of posting this update on our own website. We are working to have the details updated).
